I'm on a quest to find the best ribs in West Virginia. My passion and quest has taken me all over the state to sample the finest the great state of West Virginia has to offer. I would like to write an article about places to eat ribs in WV. This article will not only discuss where to go for great ribs, but will also discuss and inform the reader of the various ways ribs are prepared. My mouth watering article/review will leave you hungry and ready for a road trip. This article will be approximately 3000 words and can be completed within 4 weeks of start time.

I can almost see this as a gonzo-inspired, Hunter Thompson-style non-fiction piece, only concerning ribs and restaurants instead of drugs and sports. It could even be more about the quest itself instead of the ribs, but that's up to you. I'd never turn down an article about delicious ribs.
ReplyDeleteHalf expected Adam to encourage you to focus your article and I was going to object to that. I agree..it's On the Road meets ...well, something about food. I hate ribs, but I'm interested already in this article.
ReplyDeleteHow do you plan on doing your research, Cathy? Are you planning on talking about places you've already been or will you take a "journey for ribs" this weekend to "research"? Do you have anyone in mind to help you with your research? Don't be afraid to ask the owners of the restaurants if you can take a look in the kitchen! They may give you a backstage pass to the rib prep.
I'm already excited about doing this. I want to do something like the Food Channel's quest for the best rib joint. I want to interview customers about what they like about the ribs, and try them for myself. There are so many different types and ways to prepare ribs. My article will give a little history on the different types, and styles. Adam - I love the Humter Thompson idea, and Esther I also like the Road meets ribs...or journey for ribs. The idea is to let the reader know where to go to get those yummy - lip smacking ribs. I will have an assistant - my husband. He can help me take pictures and will of course have to enjoy the perks of this quest.
