Abstract: Universities are great places for burgeoning writers to gather and share ideas. This article will discuss the various writer's groups and writing contests available to students on campus. The focus will be in groups and contest oriented towards professional writers.

I like this idea. I only ask that if you wish to pursue this subject, please narrow your focus. Perhaps find a local writer that you wish to feature, using the overall concept of local writers/organizations/contests as the framework for your article. This way your readers will have a personal and identifiable connection to your subject.
ReplyDeleteI have to disagree with Adam on one hand, although I do think this proposal lacks a bit of focus. I would rather see an objective review of various contests/clubs than another focus piece on a specific writer. Perhaps you could focus on what you get out of each contest prize, which are the best for: publication, prize money, name recognition, etc. A bit of "if you want your name out there - win this one because more people read it" or something.
