Many moons ago, I wrote an article for Writing for Publication concerning Bobby Morris, a local musician (and friend). My initial plan involved interviewing the members of Bobby's band, The Dig-Its. Aside from Bobby (the drummer), I would also interview Paul (bassist), Amber (the singer), and [insert name of lead guitarist that escapes me at this time]. Unfortunately, Bobby's band-mates proved uncooperative. The article changed to a piece about the myriad ways an interviewer's plans can fall apart.
I would like to return to the original plan for our class magazine. The concept will be roughly the same: interviewing Bobby and his band-mates. This time, however, I'll have more to talk about, as Bobby's life is far more complicated than it was one year ago. He is back in school, earning a degree in chemistry, and working a part-time job on the side--in addition to juggling three bands. I think this is a great opportunity to examine the difficult life of an independent musician in an area that isn't the best place from which one may launch a music career.

It appears that you've focused your main idea into more of a focus piece on Bobby, rather than a review of the band and his band mates - is that about right? I think this could be a great piece if the subject proves to be more cooperative this time.
