If you choose to write about this I would focus on one tattoo parlor you think produces good tattoos. There are a lot of shitty tattoo parlors out there and a review of a good tattoo parlor would really help some people out.
ReplyDeleteAgain, the idea from our editorial staff seems to be "narrow your focus"...I tend to agree. You don't necessarily have to pick just one parlor, though. You could limit it to one specific artist. You could review tattoo parlor's in the area on price point, quality of tattoo, cleanliness, etc. You could even focus on a certain type of tattooing (portraits, tribal, etc).
ReplyDeleteThink of how you could focus your piece and make it something people will want to read rather than a simple phone book list of the various tattoo parlors. Heck, you could even write a piece about why tattooing is a valid form of art, and use interviews with tattoo artists around Charleston (even ones that are in different parlors)...of course even here it's good to limit to no more than 2 or, at most, 3.
